Our Story

Where it all started

 

All-Star Films has been in business since 2005, but the idea for All - Star Films was born in 1989 when I (Andre Deshay – owner) was in high school.  I was 6’4” 215 lbs. All - City outside linebacker in need of a highlight video for college recruiting. First I didn’t know of anyone who could create one and if I could find someone who could create the highlight video I would not have been able to afford it. So I did the next best thing. I decided to just create one for myself not knowing the first thing about the video editing process. I created my first highlight video in my room after school using 2 VCR’s (these where machines that played video tapes. This was before the DVD can out.) and a boom box radio. I created an 8-minute highlight video edited to music. I showed my friends and they loved it and were so thoroughly impress that they asked me to make them one. I quickly told them “No” stating, “do you know how long it took t make this one”.

 

Fast-forward to 2005. I ‘ve graduated from Fresno State after earning a full-scholarship to play football and I’m working in sales. I’m talking to one of my friends one night and he has a son who needs a highlight video for college, sound familiar? His inquiry inspired me to investigate the possibility of creating a video for his son. I soon discovered the technology was there to be able to create awesome highlight videos using a computer. This changed everything for me and I had the preverbal light bulb moment. I mean literally it hit me like a ton of bricks that I could now build a business creating dynamic highlight videos for people. So I spend the next 2 years developing a strong business plan and learning expertise of filming and edit. Now I’m able to fulfill my life’s dream of create amazing videos for people that help enhance their lives.
